CANDLE PRODUCT CARE

Caring for your Tiyehn products is important and the safety of using them is a priority to our business. We would love you to read all the care instructions as they are vital to the best use of the products.

Candle Care for Tiyehn Soy Candles

Before Burning ~

• Trim wick to 5-6mm each time before burning and ensure that the wicks are upright.
• Your candle has a memory and as such the first burn is the most important - please burn it till the wax melts to the edge of the jar. Approximately 2-3 hours.
• Place the candle on a level, heat resistant surface (The flat lids supplied by Tiyehn on the Republic Candles can be turned upside down to use as a coaster.

During Burning ~

• Don’t move a burning candle or use if the glass is cracked, chipped, or broken in any way.
• Do not place near an open window, in a drafty area or near a fan or air duct.
• Do not allow flames to come in contact with the side of the glass.
• Do not burn the candle for less than one hour or more than 4 hours at a time. If you wish to burn longer - distinguish the flame, trim and light again.
• Stop burning when 15mm of unmelted wax remains in the bottom of the glass to prevent container and surface heat damage

What to do after each burn ~

• Trimming your wick is so important. Trim the wick to approx. 5-6mm before relighting. Doing this will allow the candle to burn at the recommended and safe temperature. If it is not trimmed it will mushroom more than normal (the curling and black mound at the top of our wick) resulting in it burning hotter. Trimming the wick each time will help your candle to burn evenly and longer, helping to eliminate smoking and minimising soot forming on the container.
• Ensure your candle is in a safe place every time you go to re light your candle

When Extinguishing ~

• Use a candle snuffer to extinguish the candle flame if possible. Otherwise, gently blow the flame out.
• Do not use the lid to extinguish the flame and NEVER use water to extinguish a candle.
• Ensure the candle is completely extinguished before leaving it unattended and ensure it is cooled before moving.

REED DIFFUSER PRODUCT CARE

Set up & Maintenance

Open your diffuser carefully on a flat surface, carefully removing the plug (using paper towel or a tissue will help protect your fingers getting fragrance on them). If your skin comes in contact, just wash with soap and water.

Replace the collar and place the reeds into the reed diffuser to absorb the fragrance oil, and this will naturally diffuse the scent into the room. The fragrance will continue to evaporate into the air around it, creating a constant ambiance.

Aside from flipping the reeds once every few weeks to ensure the reeds do not become over-saturated with fragrance and dust, you don’t need to do anything special to look after your diffuser. If your area is large, you may need 2 diffusers to fulfill the whole room. Trials may need to be done. Some scents are milder than others and this should be taken into consideration.

Getting the best from your diffuser a few tips

Scent Boost

If you want a quick burst of scent, flip the reeds over taking care to protect the surface the diffuser is on; using a paper towel to ensure no liquid has dripped onto the surface or floor, and make sure you wipe the bottom of the vessel before you put it back onto the surface in case any liquid runs down the side of the bottle. If you use your reed diffuser on wooden surfaces, we suggest placing them on a protective surface or a drinks coaster as oils and fragrances can leave marks.

There are some extra factors which will affect the longevity of your diffuser, for example:

• if kept in a warm area the heat will draw the fragrance through the reeds quicker
• avoid placing the diffuser in direct sunlight as this will damage the scent and cause it to evaporate more quickly.
• Draughts and breezes can also cause the diffuser oil to be spread more quickly
• Diffusers should be kept on a higher shelf or surface, well out of reach of children and animals.
• The perfect place is where you get gentle walkway traffic

Take care not to spill a diffuser, as the liquid can cause damage to surfaces – and definitely not to be ingested.

Vegan Friendly

 – Tiyehn reed diffusers can be classed as vegan friendly as they are mostly made up of synthetic ingredients and are not tested on animals. Our diffuser base does not contain phthalates or parabens.
